Director of Professional Development and Curriculum at International School Nido de Aguilas
Kristen holds a Ph.D. in Special Education, an M.Ed in School Leadership, and a M.S. in School Psychology. She is passionate about supporting teachers and students to build a strong sense of belonging in the classroom and in school. Kristen recently completed her School Leadership Degree from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education where she was immersed in a culture of project-based learning. She supported teachers to engage in their own inquiry designed to improve teacher practice. Kristen’s work experience includes: Early Intervention Teacher, School Psychologist, School Counselor, Literacy Specialist, Field Researcher, Assistant Professor, Educational Consultant, and Assistant Director of an Early Years School. Kristen is currently the Director of Professional Development and Curriculum at Nido de Aguilas in Santiago, Chile.
She is also the Editor and Founder of Globally Informed, an online peer reviewed journal for international educators. Kristen has presented at international conferences in Latin America, Europe and Asia. She has published several blog posts for Ed Weekly’s Deeper Learning Blog, has her research published in the Phi Delta Kappa Journal, and has written two book chapters on curriculum based assessment. She is currently co-editing a book with her High Tech High colleagues on School Leadership.
