Founding Director at Fairgreen International School
Graeme is Founding Director of Fairgreen International School, a 4-programme IB school with a focus on sustainability, based in The Sustainable City, Dubai. Prior to that he was Deputy Superintendent at the International School Bangkok (ISB), a 4-18 school of close to 2,000 students located just outside the Thai capital city. Whilst there, Graeme headed up the school's future visioning process, and he was instrumental in establishing a 'culture of care' to compliment and support ISB's strong academic programme.
From 2005-2012 Graeme was Principal at the International School of The Hague, in the Netherlands. He has also been Head of a UK state Primary School, rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted and held previous leadership positions in Dubai (3 years) and Hong Kong (5 years). He began his teaching career with nine years in an inner city school in north east England before moving overseas in 1994. Graeme has studied the relationship between learning and the brain for a number of years now, and in particular the way emotions, memory and other factors can help or hinder learning.
Graeme is married to Ali, who works as a Learning Support teacher at Fairgreen, they have three children; Joe aged 15, Olivia 19 and Nathan 21.
