A federal government corporation with financial and administrative independence. It was established by Federal Law No. 17 of 1981 under the official name "Emirates General Transport and Services Corporation" with the purpose of regulating, managing, and supervising the operation of transport and auto maintenance services for various government, federal, and local entities as well as private sector organizations. The Corporation is currently under the umbrella of the Emirates Investment Authority.
Although famed as being the largest school transport provider in the UAE, Emirates Transport witnessed great business growth and service diversification during its 37 year journey. It went through many stages, pivotal points and qualitative achievements, which have resulted in the growth and diversification of services that are available today to its clients, both institutions and individuals. These services cover various sectors such as transport, leasing, auto and logistic services and has made the Corporation the single largest federal entity in the UAE, particularly in terms of human resources the number of which stood at 26,111 employees at the end of 2018, in addition to the size of its fleet, which reached 29,460 various vehicle, and also in terms of infrastructure, which spans 41 locations throughout the UAE, with a head office in Umm Ramool, Dubai. All these resources are working together with the objectives of achieving the happiness of its customers, and supporting the economic and social development of the UAE.
